Critical Infrastructure Security
Identifying Solutions
Critical infrastructure needs good security. In fact the need is reinforced by legislation.
Systems, assets and networks that provide essential services must be continuously protected.
The Australian Government’s Security Legislation Amendment (Critical Infrastructure) Bill 2020 expands the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018 to include the following sectors:
- communications
- financial services and markets
- data storage or processing
- defence industry
- higher education and research
- energy
- food and grocery
- health care and medical
- space technology
- transport; and
- water and sewerage.
Systems Design
SecurityNet consultants have designed systems for many critical infrastructure applications, and we have absolute confidence in identifying the products that will offer you the quality, performance, ruggedness and longevity that your facility needs.
High follow-up costs due to damage, repairs and power outages can be avoided by means of intelligent preventive measures.
Our design expertise will assist you ensure that no intruders may enter the premises, whether real or digital. Security and cybersecurity are fundamental. Access to highly sensitive areas is reserved for certain persons.
Perimeter Detection & Deterrence
SecurityNet’s extensive product knowledge can ensure that your perimeter security provisions are perfectly matched to the technologies you need for reliable detection and deterrence of intruders.
Perimeter security monitoring solutions have been available for many years, however many of the technologies deployed are prone to false triggering. Detection of large animals and nuisance triggering by environment disturbances is commonplace. Intruders and casual observers are also tempted to test security measures before an attack on a facility.
This creates a major problem for responders. Responding to false alarms can be a costly mind-numbing experience.
Your security systems provider may have recently moved to combinations of technology, involving fence disturbance sensors and cameras sensitive to infrared-illuminated images. These solutions require extensive knowledge of fence disturbance false alarm mitigation and skills in lighting design.
A viable alternative to infrared lighting, thermal imaging cameras, have been used in perimeter security for quite some time, but only recently have cameras become available that use both optical and thermal sensors, working in tandem. Some can also be equipped with integrated infrared or white light illuminators and/or audible warning devices.
Industry Feature - Critical Infrastructure
Water and Waste Water
Security risks at dams and weirs,de-salination, water treatment and wastewater plants go hand in hand with safety risks.
SecurityNet has strong experience in assessing such risks at critical infrastructure sites where criminal activity can lead to disaster, and irresponsible behaviour can lead to death.
Our industrial design skills are honed by years of experience assisting the water industry to deal with security issues. We are familiar with the risks and threats faced by public and private services providers and with industrial grade products.
In-camera AI applications can:
- Detect Intrusion
- Monitor hazardous locations for adherence to PPE protocols
- Detect and report number plates of unauthorised vehicles
- Read barcode and QR code data on containers used on site, and more.
